Let's Stick Together Art Journal Page

Darkroom Door - Monday, September 11, 2017

Hi! Belinda Spencer back again today to share another project using the Cacti Stamp Set! This time it's an art journal spread. I have created my own cute cacti embellishments for this art journal spread using an
embossing technique as well as watercolour painting with Distress Inks.

Instructions:
1. Apply some co-ordinating acrylic paint to your art journal pages using a palette knife. Allow to dry.

2. Place the small Crackle Stencil on the background and swipe some texture paste over it using a palette knife. Lift off the stencil and reapply in several places until you have enough texture added to your pages. Allow to dry.

3. Dilute some of the acrylic paint and add over the top of the crackle areas to add some colour. Dry with a heat gun.

4. Use some matte gel paste to add some torn tissue paper across the centre of the spread. Allow to dry.

5. Apply some stamps from the Grunge Marks set using Ranger Archival Inks to add more interest and texture to the background. Add some messy strands of co-ordinating embroidery thread across the centre of the background.

6. Apply clear embossing ink and Fossilized Amber Distress Ink to the cactus stamps and stamp on a separate piece of smooth white cardstock. Heat set with clear embossing powder. Select co-ordinating Distress Ink colours and press them onto an acrylic block. Use a soft wet paintbrush to apply the colours to the cacti images. Dry with a heat gun, fussy cut and add to the art journal pages.

7. Stamp the quote from the Cacti Stamp Set on a separate piece of white cardstock using Jet Black Archival Ink. Cut out and ink the edges with the Fossilized Amber Distress Ink. Stick down on the art journal page. Use the letters from the Alphabet Medley set to add 'C'mon C'mon' to the pages.
