Beatrice & Ethel Photobooth Ladies

Darkroom Door - Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Our Guest Artist Ngaire has had loads of fun creating this fabulous treasure box! Here's some details from Ngaire herself:

"Beatrice and Ethel"

Using my favourite Darkroom Door product - the Photobooth series! Plus the montages, and rubberstamps (doors and artist). Painted with beeswax.

Beatrice and Ethel are two soulmates who live for beauty and travel and glamour. (take a look at the hats!!).

I wanted to create an art piece that reflected the girls vintage beauty.. and their desire to travel together to Prague. I used lots of mini bits and pieces.. (see the lipsticks?? and the pearls?) and felt that the girls deserved a rather glamourous home.

Favourite bit?: the lipstick stain on the wee tea cup.

Here's some close ups of the detail:

Glorious Ngaire! I can imagine them getting together for afternoon tea, shopping and a night on the town!
